The UFC has officially added one of the sport’s most exciting young talents to its roster, signing 19-year-old Alice Pereira to the women’s bantamweight division. Born in December 2005, Pereira (6-0) celebrated her birthday just four days ago, making her one of the youngest fighters ever to join the promotion.
Pereira’s journey to the UFC has been nothing short of remarkable. Since her professional MMA debut in August 2023, the Brazilian prospect, nicknamed “Golden Girl,” has showcased her finishing ability with five of her six wins coming via stoppage. Among her most impressive performances was an 11-second knockout victory in July, solidifying her reputation as a rising star in the sport.
Her most recent triumph came on December 14, when she defeated former ONE Championship title challenger Samara Santos. After the fight, Pereira seized the moment to campaign directly for a UFC contract, donning a t-shirt bearing UFC matchmaker Mick Maynard’s name alongside her MMA resume.
Pereira’s persistence paid off. On Tuesday, UFC CEO Dana White shared a heartwarming video on his Instagram stories of Maynard delivering the life-changing news. Overwhelmed with emotion, Pereira expressed her gratitude and excitement for the opportunity.
“I’m so grateful and ready to show the world what I can do,” Pereira said during the announcement.
While her debut date and opponent have yet to be revealed, Pereira’s addition to the UFC roster has already created a buzz. With her unblemished record and undeniable talent, fans and analysts alike will be eagerly awaiting her first step into the octagon.
Alice Pereira represents a new generation of MMA athletes, and her signing is yet another testament to the UFC’s commitment to identifying and fostering the best young talent worldwide.
