MS Dhoni was recently seen enjoying a vacation with friends shortly after being retained by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for the IPL 2025 season. The 43-year-old, who has been a key figure in CSK’s success, was confirmed for another season with the franchise after being retained as an ‘uncapped cricketer’ under the new IPL regulations announced in October.

On the day of the IPL 2025 retention announcement, MS Dhoni was one of five players confirmed to return for CSK, alongside Ravindra Jadeja, Shivam Dube, Matheesha Pathirana, and captain Ruturaj Gaikwad. Dhoni, who last played for India five years ago, is now considered ‘uncapped’ due to the IPL’s updated rules.
In a picture shared on social media, MS Dhoni was seen posing with two friends in a scenic location, dressed in a jacket and sunglasses, with lush greenery as the backdrop.
Dhoni’s IPL career has been legendary, having led CSK to five titles. He stepped down from his captaincy role before the 2024 season, passing the baton to Gaikwad. In IPL 2024, Dhoni limited his batting appearances, facing only 73 balls and maintaining an impressive strike rate of 220.54.
For the upcoming season, Dhoni will be reunited with former CSK teammate Ravichandran Ashwin, who was re-signed by the franchise in the late-November mega auction. Dhoni will also share the dressing room with stars like Deepak Hooda, Sam Curran, Khaleel Ahmed, Rachin Ravindra, and Devon Conway.
