Francis Ngannou, fresh off his dominant victory at PFL: Battle of the Giants, shared a fun moment with Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana at Old Trafford earlier today. The two sports stars engaged in a playful “fight,” exchanging light-hearted jabs before Ngannou took Onana down with a swift takedown, all while laughing together.
Ngannou, the newly crowned PFL Superfights heavyweight champion, had just recently returned to the cage in Saudi Arabia, where he faced Renan Ferreira in a much-anticipated bout. The fight marked Ngannou’s first MMA appearance since his victory over Ciryl Gane in January 2022. Despite concerns over Ferreira’s potential, Ngannou made quick work of the Brazilian, securing a dominant first-round knockout and becoming the first-ever PFL Superfights heavyweight champion.
The playful exchange between Ngannou and Onana today at Old Trafford was a far cry from the intensity of Ngannou’s usual cage battles. Onana posted the light-hearted sparring session on Instagram, joking that he demanded a rematch, to which Ngannou humorously responded, warning the goalkeeper to be careful what he wished for.

Ngannou’s Next Move: MMA or Boxing?
As for Ngannou’s professional future, the 2024 PFL champion has plenty of options following his quick win over Ferreira. Ngannou revealed that he hopes to return to the cage in the spring of 2025 for his next MMA bout, though he also has the possibility of stepping into the boxing ring. Earlier this month, former heavyweight boxing champion Deontay Wilder publicly called for a fight with Ngannou in 2025. Ngannou has welcomed the idea, saying he would be open to facing Wilder depending on negotiations with the PFL.
As Ngannou continues to expand his horizons in both MMA and boxing, fans eagerly await to see where his next challenge lies. Whether in the cage or the ring, one thing is certain—Ngannou’s future remains as thrilling as ever.
