Barcelona’s rising star, Pau Cubarsi, has sent a heartfelt message to fans after enduring a painful facial injury during his side’s 3-0 Champions League victory over Crvena zvezda on Wednesday. The 17-year-old defender had to leave the pitch in the first half after a brutal kick to the face left him covered in blood.
Despite the severity of the injury, which required 10 stitches, Cubarsi showed remarkable courage. After receiving treatment in the Barcelona dressing room, he took to Instagram to respond to a post showing his bloodied face, writing simply: “Everything for this badge.”

Cubarsi’s bravery and determination have earned comparisons to Barcelona legend Carles Puyol, who became renowned for his fearless style of play. The teenager has openly expressed his admiration for Puyol, stating that he aspires to emulate the iconic defender and make a lasting impact at Barcelona.
Already a key part of the first team at such a young age, Cubarsi is on track to follow in Puyol’s footsteps. With his tenacity and strong presence, the young defender’s future looks bright at the Catalan club.
