In a remarkable comeback from a disappointing outing, San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama showcased his immense talent by recording a rare 5×5—25 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, five blocks, and five steals—leading his team to a 106-88 victory over the Utah Jazz on Thursday night in Salt Lake City.
After scoring a career-low six points in the previous loss to Oklahoma City, Wembanyama’s performance marked the second time in his young career that he achieved a 5×5, joining NBA legends Hakeem Olajuwon and Andrei Kirilenko as the only players to do so more than once. Olajuwon holds the record with six instances, while Kirilenko accomplished the feat three times.
Chris Paul also made a significant contribution for the Spurs, adding 19 points, 10 assists, seven rebounds, and two steals. On the other hand, the Jazz struggled without their leading scorer, Lauri Markkanen, who was sidelined with back spasms. Collin Sexton led Utah with 16 points in the defeat.
Suns Rally to Defeat Clippers
In another thrilling matchup, the Phoenix Suns overcame a 21-point deficit to defeat the Los Angeles Clippers 125-119 in Inglewood, California. Devin Booker had a standout performance, scoring a season-high 40 points. The Suns made an impressive 15 consecutive shots to open the second half, igniting a comeback that extended their winning streak to three games.

Royce O’Neale added 21 points, while Kevin Durant contributed 18 points. Rookie Ryan Dunn scored 16 in his second career start, and Jusuf Nurkic chipped in with 11 points. For the Clippers, James Harden recorded a triple-double with 25 points, 13 assists, and 10 rebounds, while Norman Powell scored 23 points. Harden also became the 20th player in NBA history to surpass 26,000 career points.
Rockets Hold Off Mavericks
In Dallas, the Houston Rockets secured a 108-102 victory over the Mavericks, thanks in large part to Jalen Green’s team-high 23 points. Green hit a crucial three-pointer with just over a minute remaining to help stabilize Houston after a fourth-quarter surge from Dallas.
Dillon Brooks and Alperen Sengun each added 17 points for the Rockets, while Sengun also recorded a game-high 12 rebounds. Luka Doncic led all scorers with 29 points, including 15 in a strong fourth quarter. Kyrie Irving contributed 28 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists, but the Mavericks fell short.
Grizzlies Dominate Bucks

The Memphis Grizzlies put on a dominant display against the Milwaukee Bucks, winning 122-99. Ja Morant notched a triple-double with 26 points, 14 assists, and 10 rebounds, marking the 12th triple-double of his career. Santi Aldama supported with 19 points and nine rebounds, while Jaylen Wells and Scotty Pippen Jr. added 16 points each.
Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 37 points and 11 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Grizzlies, who snapped a two-game losing streak. Brook Lopez scored 12 points, and Bobby Portis contributed 11 in the loss.
As the NBA season progresses, teams continue to battle for positioning, and standout performances like Wembanyama’s will be pivotal in the coming weeks.
