Unadkat signs contract extension with Sussex until 2026

Jaydev Unadkat has extended his contract with Sussex, committing to the County Championship seasons of 2025 and 2026. He will be available for the final stages of both seasons. Reflecting on his journey with the club, Unadkat expressed his deep connection with Sussex, stating, “Hove has become my home away from home, and Good Old Sussex by The Sea has my heart.”

Sussex head coach Paul Farbrace praised Unadkat for both his on-field performances and his off-field demeanor. “Jaydev’s quality on the pitch is undeniable, but his character and personality make him one of the most respected and liked individuals in the team.”

Unadkat initially joined Sussex in 2023 and made an immediate impact, taking 11 wickets in three matches. He returned in 2024, securing 22 wickets at an impressive average of 14.40 in five games, playing a key role in Sussex’s Division Two title win.

Currently, Unadkat is leading Saurashtra in the ongoing Ranji Trophy, demonstrating his strong form as a leader and bowler both in domestic and county cricket.
