Sean O’Malley Calls Out Devin Haney: ‘I’ll Put $1 Million on Me vs. Him’; Haney Responds

Former UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley has made headlines once again. This time calling out boxing champion Devin Haney during a recent episode of his podcast, The Timbo Sugar Show. O’Malley expressed his enthusiasm for potential boxing matches, particularly if UFC president Dana White decides to venture into the sport.

O’Malley, who recently lost his bantamweight title to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 306—although he contests the decision—shared his excitement about the possibility of White promoting boxing events. “That’s exciting,” he remarked. “If the UFC is going to do something with boxing, I would love to f*cking do it. That would be so fun.”

Despite his love for mixed martial arts, O’Malley has frequently expressed interest in boxing, proposing fights with top boxers like Haney and Ryan Garcia. His rivalry with Haney intensified after the latter criticized him following O’Malley’s recent defeat. Seizing the opportunity to take a jab at Haney, O’Malley stated, “Devin Haney’s a btch. He’s such a btch.”

O’Malley escalated his challenge, offering to put $1 million of his own money on the line for a fight against Haney, suggesting that they could engage in a no-holds-barred match. “If Devin Haney wants to talk shit, I’ll put a million dollars on me vs. him, no time limit, and we can fight. MMA rules, just a fight. Or we can do no rules; if you want to fcking eye poke me, you can. Do a real fcking fight. If you want to talk shit on Twitter, we can really, actually fight,” he declared.

While O’Malley expressed his willingness to box Haney under traditional boxing rules. He clarified that he wouldn’t be putting his own money on the line for that scenario. “I would even box. I wouldn’t put $1 million of my money, but I would box Devin Haney. Just boxing rules, just to protect him. But he wouldn’t simply just fight me. So don’t talk shit,” he added.

Haney has since responded to O’Malley’s bold claims on social media, further igniting their rivalry.

Currently, O’Malley is scheduled to undergo surgery in October to repair a torn labrum in his hip, which will sideline him until at least next summer. As fans await his return to action, the possibility of a future showdown with Haney remains an enticing prospect for fight enthusiasts.
