Paris 2024 Boxing: Bakhodir Jalolov Retains +92kg Title, Secures Back-to-Back Golds

Bakhodir has successfully defended his Olympic title in the men’s +92kg boxing division at the Paris 2024 Games. Clinching gold at Roland-Garros Stadium on Saturday, 10 August. This victory marks Jalolov’s second consecutive Olympic gold, following his win at Tokyo 2020.

The Uzbek boxer showcased his dominance throughout the bout, defeating Spain’s Ayoub Ghadfa with a decisive performance. Jalolov, who has now made history for Uzbekistan, expressed his emotions and pride after the match, stating, “Becoming a two-time Olympic champion was my dream. Now, I feel very happy, and I will continue my career as a professional boxer.”

Ghadfa, though disappointed not to achieve his Olympic gold dream, took pride in his performance and aspirations. He remarked, “I want Olympic gold. If I stay an amateur, I’ll continue to fight for it. If I turn professional, I aim to be a world champion. Nothing is impossible if you fight for it and follow your dreams.”

The final bout of the boxing tournament, featuring the +92kg weight class, delivered a dramatic and intense end to the Olympic competition, with Jalolov’s power and skill proving too much for the valiant but outclassed Ghadfa.
