Verstappen’s Radio Rage: Criticizes Red Bull’s Strategy and Radio Responses During Hungarian GP

The Hungarian Grand Prix saw intense exchanges between Max Verstappen and his race engineer, Gianpiero Lambiase, adding to an already frustrating race for the Red Bull driver. Max Verstappen’s discontent with both the race strategy and his team’s handling of the situation was evident throughout the race.

“It was a very bad race,” Max Verstappen remarked to Viaplay. “Everything went wrong. The strategy was poor, and overtaking here is extremely challenging. I had to fight hard and lost a lot of time, especially in the second stint. Getting undercut initially was disappointing, but the second time I was again stuck behind traffic and backmarkers, which compounded the problem.”

Max Verstappen’s frustration was further exacerbated by his interactions with Gianpiero Lambiase over the radio. The Dutch driver openly expressed his displeasure with the comments he received from his race engineer, describing them as “stupid.”

“I was angry because I kept getting unhelpful comments on the radio,” Max Verstappen said. “Instead of acknowledging the issues and trying to calm me down, the responses felt like they were going against me. It was the last straw for me. I don’t think it was handled well today.”

When asked if his frustration was a result of the heat of the moment, Max Verstappen replied, “No, it wasn’t just a momentary reaction. I think it was genuinely problematic.”

The exchanges between Max Verstappen and Gianpiero Lambiase highlighted the tension during a challenging race, reflecting the complex dynamics within the Red Bull Racing team.
