Luca Marini remains optimistic about Honda’s progress despite challenging results so far in the 2024 MotoGP season.
At Assen, Marini and his three Honda teammates qualified in the last five places and struggled to score points. Nonetheless, Marini is hopeful for a better outcome at the upcoming Sachsenring race.
“In Germany, we need to find the luck we lost last weekend. I’m approaching the weekend the same as every other – determined to work hard and make progress,” Marini said. “In Assen, we had a lot of potential, so my objective is to deliver on that and show the progress we have been making.”
Joan Mir, close to securing a new deal with Honda, faced another setback in Assen, crashing out of the race. This marked his fourth DNF in the last six rounds, with only half of the races completed so far in 2024.
“No time to rest! Straight back to it as we now arrive in Germany,” Mir stated. “Sachsenring is a very different track to Assen, so let’s see what can happen there. The plan for the weekend will be similar to that of Assen, making the most of our package and confirming a few things before this second break.”
Despite the setbacks, both riders are focused on demonstrating Honda’s potential and making progress in the upcoming races.
