Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh shared a close bond with Australian opener David Warner, both on and off the field. Their friendship grew during their time together at Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Recently, Warner announced his retirement from international cricket following Australia’s exit in the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup 2024.
Warner’s 15-year cricket career concluded quietly, as he opted not to make any personal statements. However, Yuvraj Singh took to social media to pay a heartfelt tribute to his former teammate. Yuvraj, who played alongside Warner in the SRH team that won the IPL title in 2016, shared a message filled with admiration.

Warner’s international retirement marks the end of an era for Australian cricket. The 37-year-old departs as Australia’s leading T20 run-scorer, accumulating 3,277 runs in 110 matches. He ranks seventh globally in T20 internationals for the highest run-scorer, boasting an average of 33.43, including one century and 28 fifties.
During the T20 World Cup 2024, Warner scored 178 runs in seven innings at a strike rate of 139.06, including two fifties, reaffirming his status as a T20 legend.
