[Watch] Jadeja Lifts Dravid While Receiving Fielding Medal for IND vs AFG Game

After India’s remarkable 47-run victory against Afghanistan, Ravindra Jadeja was awarded the iconic fielding medal for his three crucial catches.

The Indian cricket team started the Super 8 round on a high note with a dominant win against the in-form Afghanistan team. Despite an initial struggle after opting to bat first, Suryakumar Yadav’s gritty half-century guided India to a total of 181 runs.

Jasprit Bumrah’s exceptional bowling performance, taking 3 wickets for just 7 runs in his four-over spell, further solidified India’s position. The fielding efforts did not go unnoticed, with the trend of fielding medals continuing in the dressing room post-victory.

Fielding Coach T. Dilip praised Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, and Rishabh Pant for their situational awareness. Ultimately, Jadeja was declared the winner for his catches dismissing Hazratullah Zazai, Mohammad Nabi, and Rashid Khan.

Departing head coach Rahul Dravid, the special guest for the ceremony, handed the honors to Jadeja, who excitedly lifted Dravid in his arms.

Notably, Jadeja’s T20 World Cup performance had been underwhelming until this game. However, against Afghanistan, he showcased his skills with a wicket and three important catches.

With this winning momentum, India is set to clash with Bangladesh in their second Super 8 game tomorrow at Antigua.
