Amidst this backdrop, a viral video showed Azam Khan, who was omitted from the India match, enjoying street food. When asked about this incident, Mahmood defended Azam, emphasizing that cricket is just one aspect of life and that such scrutiny wouldn’t arise if Pakistan had won.

“You were there on match day. Cricket happens on the field. There’s more to life than cricket. Losing a match doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world. It’s natural to need time to relax after such events,” Mahmood remarked.

He also highlighted that dining out after matches, even after losses, is common practice among cricket teams worldwide. Mahmood highlighted that other international teams exhibit similar behaviors and emphasized the importance of maintaining perspective and relaxation to manage the pressures of professional sport.
