Jasprit Bumrah emerged as the standout performer in India’s thrilling T20 World Cup victory over Pakistan at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. His exceptional bowling spell turned the match in India’s favor as they edged past Pakistan by 6 runs in a low-scoring encounter.

Chasing a modest target of 120, Pakistan appeared well-positioned at 73 for 3 in 12.1 overs, needing 47 runs from 47 balls. However, Bumrah’s sensational bowling changed the course of the game. He finished with figures of 3 for 14 in four overs, crucially restricting Pakistan to 113 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs.
Bumrah’s impactful performance earned him the Man of the Match award. Reflecting on his approach in the post-match presentation, he emphasized simplicity and execution. “Just hit the seam as much as I can and let the pitch do the rest,” Bumrah remarked. He also expressed appreciation for the support from Indian fans in the stadium.
Earlier in the match, Pakistan’s pacers, led by Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf with three wickets each, bowled out India for 119 runs. Rishabh Pant top-scored with 42 runs, but India struggled otherwise after Pakistan elected to bowl first under Babar Azam’s captaincy.
