Alpine Continues Push for LGBTQ+ Inclusion in Motorsport with Renewed Racing Pride Partnership

Formula One team Alpine has announced the extension of their partnership with Racing Pride, an organization dedicated to promoting LGBTQ+ inclusion within motorsport. This renewed commitment comes ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix and highlights Alpine’s ongoing efforts to foster a diverse and welcoming environment.

Alpine’s partnership with Racing Pride began two years ago with the aim of raising awareness about LGBTQ+ issues within motorsport. This collaboration has proven valuable, not only in increasing awareness but also in fostering a more inclusive workplace culture at Alpine.

One such example is the team’s participation in the “Accelerate Pride” event held earlier this year. Kerrie Sparling, BWT Alpine F1 Team Power Platform Development Manager and a Racing Pride Ambassador, played a key role in discussions aimed at advancing LGBTQ+ inclusion across the motorsport and automotive industries.

Alpine will continue their Pride Month celebrations throughout June. The team’s A524 car will proudly display the Progress Pride Flag during the Canadian Grand Prix and for the remainder of the month. Furthermore, they will be collaborating with Racing Pride on a series of meaningful activities throughout June and beyond, both internally within the team and externally with the broader community.

Bruno Famin, Team Principal of BWT Alpine F1 Team, expressed his pride in the continued partnership: “Working with Racing Pride is essential for enhancing diversity and inclusion initiatives in motorsports… We are aiming to expand on awareness, allyship and engagement whilst supporting and getting to know our LGBTQ+ community further and continuing to foster a culture of inclusion at Alpine.”

Richard Morris, CEO & Co-Founder of Racing Pride, echoed this sentiment. He highlighted the positive impact of the collaboration over the past two years, praising Alpine’s commitment to creating an inclusive team culture and their visible support for the LGBTQ+ community. Both parties are looking forward to continuing their work together throughout 2024.
