Despite the ongoing uncertainty surrounding Manchester United’s managerial situation, Harry Maguire has determined to extend his tenure with the club.
Reports indicate that Erik ten Hag’s future at Old Trafford remains uncertain following the FA Cup final victory against Manchester City. Speculation emerged before the fixture, suggesting that regardless of the outcome, the club would sack the Dutchman. However, there has been no official confirmation from the club regarding this matter.
Maguire, who has one year left on his current contract, is eager to discuss his future with club officials this summer, as reported by the Sun. The 31-year-old, who joined United from Leicester City in 2019 for £85 million, is keen to prolong his stay at the 13-time Premier League champions, provided he remains a valued asset.
Despite encountering challenges since Ten Hag’s arrival in 2022, including losing the captaincy and facing increased competition for playing time, Maguire remains committed to the club. Despite not starting in the Premier League until October this season due to injuries, he made 31 appearances, demonstrating his importance to the team.
Reflecting on the uncertainty surrounding the club, Maguire acknowledged the scrutiny and pressure associated with playing for Manchester United.
