Amid preparations for Aaron Ramsdale’s departure, Arsenal are considering a surprising move to bring Wojciech Szczesny back to the Emirates Stadium.
Ramsdale, having lost his place to David Raya, is expected to leave the club this summer after making just six Premier League appearances this season. With a preference for a homegrown replacement, Szczesny has emerged as a potential option. Having previously played for Arsenal before his move to Juventus in 2017.
Juventus’ interest in selling a goalkeeper this summer, combined with Szczesny’s expiring contract and their pursuit of Michele Di Gregorio, has raised the possibility of his departure. However, it remains to be seen if Szczesny would accept a backup role to Raya.
Another candidate for Arsenal’s goalkeeping role is Brighton’s Jason Steele, who has featured prominently for the Seagulls this season. With two years left on his contract, Steele offers experience and homegrown status.

Additionally, Arsenal are monitoring the progress of Ajax’s Diant Ramaj, a young goalkeeper known for his ball-playing abilities. However, Ramaj may be hesitant to relinquish his starting position.
Meanwhile, Ramsdale is likely to join Newcastle in search of regular game time. With discussions over his future deferred until the end of the season, according to Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal’s focus now shifts to their upcoming fixtures, including crucial match against Manchester-United and their pursuit of Premier League title. Hoping for slip-ups from Manchester-City to enhance their chances of lifting the trophy for the first time in two decades.
