status as one of the most prominent figures in combat sports history is undisputed, owing to his blend of skill in the octagon and charismatic trash-talking. Among his fans was Sean O’Malley, who admired McGregor’s success and approach to the sport.
However, McGregor recently took aim at Sean O’Malley in a now-deleted post on social media, referencing O’Malley’s past drug test failure and proposing a spar with him. This unexpected shift in tone from McGregor prompted a response from O’Malley during his TimboSugarShow podcast.
“He just went on a little tweet rant,” O’Malley remarked. “F***ing booger sugar’d up.”
In response to McGregor’s offer for a spar and derogatory remarks, O’Malley expressed a mix of disappointment and determination. “I was more sad than mad,” he admitted. “Now I cannot wait to see Michael Chandler absolutely sleep him. I’m turning up.”
O’Malley’s tone towards McGregor has notably shifted, with him expressing disillusionment and a sense of betrayal. “F*** Conor. When your idols turn to rivals… He obviously was probably on some good amount of fun stuff,” O’Malley stated.
Ultimately, O’Malley has moved past the incident, acknowledging the transient nature of such conflicts in the sport. “But, it is what it is, man. I cried for a little bit. I’m over it,” he concluded.
