Punjab Kings (PBKS) skipper Shikhar Dhawan is set to miss another match as he continues his recovery from a shoulder injury. This means he’ll be sidelined for the upcoming clash against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens on Friday.

However, there’s a glimmer of hope for PBKS fans. Bowling coach Sunil Joshi has indicated that Dhawan might be fit to return for their next match against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on May 1st.
Dhawan’s absence has undoubtedly impacted PBKS’s performance this season. After a promising start, they’ve only managed two wins in eight games so far. The injury, sustained during their match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 9th, has kept him out for three consecutive matches.
Sunil Joshi, speaking ahead of the KKR match, offered some positive news regarding Dhawan’s recovery. He mentioned seeing Dhawan practicing in the nets and expressed optimism about his return within a week.
“He was in form, and we really missed his batting services. We saw him batting yesterday, going through the nets and everything. He is on the road to recovery. Hopefully, he should be fit for the next game (against CSK),” said Joshi.
In Dhawan’s absence, Sam Curran has donned the captain’s hat and even shifted to the opening slot. However, PBKS has unfortunately faced defeats in all three matches under Curran’s leadership.
While Dhawan misses the KKR encounter, PBKS fans can look forward to his potential return for the crucial match against CSK.
