Quartararo Emphasizes Importance of Yamaha Satellite Team as Extension of Factory

With the recent signing of 2021 world champion Quartararo to a new contract. Outgoing Yamaha team boss Lin Jarvis is now focused on securing a new satellite team. Moreover, Quartararo emphasizes that such a team must receive full support from the factory and not merely function as a paying customer.

According to Quartararo, the establishment of a satellite Yamaha team is crucial for various reasons. Not only does it provide additional testing opportunities during pre-season, but it also allows for valuable feedback from multiple riders. In Quartararo’s view, the satellite team should essentially serve as an extension of the factory team. Equipped with factory bikes and support.

Having more riders on similar machinery not only adds competition but also fosters a collaborative learning environment. Quartararo believes that competing alongside other riders on identical bikes not only intensifies the rivalry but also offers opportunities for mutual improvement and knowledge exchange.

While Yamaha has been engaged in discussions with various teams regarding the formation of a satellite team for the 2025 season, including VR46 and Pramac, it remains to be seen which outfit will ultimately align with the manufacturer’s vision.
