Former Atalanta Player Rasmus Hojlund Revels in Manchester United Ace’s Delight After Liverpool’s Europa League Defeat

Rasmus Hojlund, formerly of Atalanta and now playing for Manchester United, couldn’t contain his satisfaction as he witnessed his former team’s triumph over Liverpool in the Europa League.

After spending a single season at Atalanta, the Danish international made a high-profile move to Old Trafford last summer for a hefty fee of £70 million. Despite his short stint with the Serie A side, Hojlund still follows their progress closely and was impressed by their recent performance.

Atalanta visited Anfield for the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final clash against Liverpool, and it turned out to be a memorable night for the Italian side. They secured a stunning 3-0 victory, with Gianluca Scamacca netting twice and Mario Pasalic adding a late goal.

Hojlund wasted no time in expressing his joy at his former team’s success over his current rivals. Shortly after the final whistle, the 21-year-old took to Instagram and posted a picture of the scoreline, accompanied by the caption “Mola Mia” and a lion emoji.

The phrase “Mola Mia” is a local saying from the Bergamo region, further endearing Hojlund to the Atalanta fanbase, and translates to “never give up.”

While Atalanta’s victory is significant, the tie is far from over, with the second leg scheduled for next week. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp expressed his frustration after the game, acknowledging the team’s poor performance and missed opportunities.
