Delhi Capitals’ Rishabh Pant is set to make his IPL comeback after a harrowing car accident 14 months ago. Cleared by the BCCI on Tuesday, Pant’s team will kick off its IPL campaign against Punjab Kings on March 23 in Mohali.

After a serious crash in December 2022, Pant suffered many injuries. He had surgery on his knee and his wrist and ankle were broken.
Expressing a mix of excitement and nerves akin to a debutant, Pant stated, “It feels like I am going to make my debut again.” Additionally, the 26-year-old underwent extensive rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy.
Pant expressed gratitude to his well-wishers, fans, BCCI, and NCA staff for their unwavering support during his recovery journey.
Reuniting with the Delhi Capitals pre-season camp, Pant expressed eagerness to participate in the IPL, a tournament he cherishes. He acknowledged the support of team owners and staff, eagerly anticipating playing in front of the fans once more.
Fans and teammates alike eagerly await Pant’s return, expecting him to resume his dual role as a batsman and wicketkeeper. With significant international experience across formats, Pant’s presence adds depth to the Delhi Capitals’ lineup.
Having attended the IPL auction last year, Pant’s return marks a significant moment in his cricketing journey, signaling his remarkable comeback from adversity.
