Ranji Trophy Final: CSK's Rising Batting All-Rounder, Shardul Thakur, Smashes 75 in Spectacular Innings

Entering the crease with the score at a precarious 111-6, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder steadied the ship alongside Shams Mulani and Tanush Kotian, before unleashing an onslaught during his unbeaten partnership with Tushar Deshpande.

Thakur’s 37-ball fifty was a display of power-hitting, featuring six boundaries and two towering sixes, including one against the left-arm spin of Aditya Sarwate, where he confidently cleared the long-on boundary.

Notably, Thakur had also scored a century in Mumbai’s previous game, rescuing his team from a difficult position at 106-7 in the semifinal clash against Tamil Nadu.

Despite his heroic efforts, Mumbai posted a total of 224 runs after batting first, with Thakur’s exceptional 75 emerging as the standout performance. While Prithvi Shaw and Bhupen Lalwani provided a fiery start, the middle-order, including Ajinkya Rahane and Shreyas Iyer, struggled to make an impact.

In the bowling department, Harsh Dubey and Thakur picked up three wickets each for Vidarbha, while Umesh Yadav claimed two wickets in the first innings.
