Kuldeep Yadav, the talented left-arm wrist-spinner, marked his Test debut against Australia in 2017 at Dharamshala, where he showcased his potential by securing four crucial wickets in India’s victory over the Aussies by 8 wickets. Fast forward to 2024, and Kuldeep found himself back at the picturesque Dharamshala ground, this time facing England, the traditional rivals of Australia.

In a remarkable turn of events, Kuldeep achieved his fourth five-wicket haul in Test cricket during the match against England. This achievement also saw him surpass the records set by Axar Patel and Jasprit Bumrah for the fewest deliveries taken to reach 50 Test wickets for India. Kuldeep accomplished this milestone in just 1871 deliveries, outperforming Axar’s 2205 and Bumrah’s 2520 deliveries.
Furthermore, Kuldeep joined an exclusive club of left-arm wrist-spinners to claim 50 or more Test wickets, following in the footsteps of South Africa’s Paul Adams (134) and England’s Johnny Wardle (102).
