Francesco Bagnaia’s recent contract extension with Ducati MotoGP team comes with a substantial salary boost, reflecting his stellar performance over the past seasons.
The Italian rider committed to Ducati until the end of 2026, just ahead of the 2024 season opener in Qatar, securing a lucrative deal. Reports suggest that Bagnaia’s annual salary is approximately €7 million (£6 million), with the potential to surpass €10 million (£8.5 million) depending on his championship results.
His contract includes a base salary of €7 million (£6 million) per year, with additional bonuses tied to championship victories. This marks a significant increase from his previous contract, signed in 2022 before his title wins, where he earned similar figures to fellow riders Jorge Martin and Enea Bastianini.
The substantial financial commitment from Ducati to Bagnaia marks a departure from previous approaches, notably during the tenures of Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi, who commanded considerably higher salaries without securing championship victories for the team.

Francesco Bagnaia’s consecutive championship wins in 2022 and 2023 have solidified his status as one of the sport’s top riders, making his contract extension a priority for Ducati amidst impending negotiations with other riders on the grid.
With his future secured, Bagnaia now focuses on defending his title in the upcoming season, where he faces stiff competition from contenders like Jorge Martin and Marc Marquez. His consistency and success have undoubtedly cemented his place as a key figure in Ducati’s MotoGP campaign for the foreseeable future.
