In the WPL 2024 clash between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians, Meg Lanning and Jemimah Rodrigues played pivotal roles with contrasting fifties, guiding Delhi Capitals to an imposing total of 192 for four. Despite Rodrigues’ explosive 69 off 33 balls, Mumbai Indians fell short by 29 runs, largely due to Jess Jonassen’s economical spell.

Rodrigues showcased her explosive batting prowess in Delhi Capitals’ first-ever home fixture, entertaining the crowd with her aggressive strokes. Lanning laid the foundation with a steady innings, gradually accelerating before falling to a brilliant catch by Amelia Kerr.
Despite a strong start, Mumbai Indians struggled to contain Delhi Capitals’ batting onslaught. Jonassen’s left-arm spin proved decisive, claiming three crucial wickets and sealing the victory for the hosts. Although Amanjot Kaur and S. Sajana provided late fireworks, it wasn’t enough to rescue Mumbai Indians from defeat.
