Marc Marquez’s transition from Repsol Honda to Gresini in MotoGP has emphasized the importance of preserving the family atmosphere within his new team, shedding light on his decision to bring only one engineer from his former team.
In a revealing documentary, it became evident that Marquez’s integration into Gresini holds sentimental significance, especially with the passing of team founder Fausto Gresini in 2021. Nadia Padovani, now leading the team in her husband’s absence, expressed pride and happiness in having Marquez join their “family.”

Marc Marquez, acknowledging the team’s familial ethos, emphasized the need to honor the legacy of Fausto Gresini and maintain the cohesive spirit within the team. This ethos played a crucial role in Marquez’s decision not to overwhelm Gresini with his entire inner circle from Honda, out of respect for the existing team dynamics.
Despite Marquez’s stature in the sport, he recognizes the importance of adapting to Gresini’s established family environment rather than imposing significant changes. By bringing along only one member of his Repsol team, Marquez aims to integrate seamlessly into Gresini while respecting their existing familial bonds.
Marquez’s choice of crew chief, Frankie Carchedi, who previously worked with Fabio di Giannantonio at Gresini, reflects his commitment to assimilating into the team’s existing structure while maintaining continuity and mutual respect.
