England’s and India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal have made significant strides in the latest ICC Test rankings, while Australians have seen notable advancements in T20Is. Additionally, Namibia’s Bernard Scholtz has achieved a historic milestone in ODI rankings.
In the Test rankings, Root’s century in England’s ongoing tour of India has propelled him to No. 3, following his unbeaten 122 in the fourth Test. Notably, his performance as an offspinner has also elevated him to No. 4 among Test allrounders. Meanwhile, Jaiswal’s consistent batting display has seen him rise from No. 69 to No. 12, thanks to his impressive tally of 655 runs at an average of 93.57 in eight innings.
The top spots in the Test batters’ rankings are still held by Kane Williamson of New Zealand and Australia’s Steven Smith. In the bowling rankings, R Ashwin has closed the gap with No. 1 Jasprit Bumrah, following his impactful five-wicket haul in the recent Ranchi Test.
In the T20I rankings, Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood’s impressive performance in Auckland has propelled him to No. 7 among T20I bowlers. He is now the sole Australian in the top 10, with England’s Adil Rashid leading the rankings. Additionally, Travis Head and Tim David have gained positions among T20I batters, with Head climbing to 19th and David reaching a career-best 22nd position.
In ODI rankings, Namibian bowler Bernard Scholtz has achieved a historic milestone by reaching 11th position among ODI bowlers, marking a record high for Namibia. His captain, Gerhard Erasmus, has surged to No. 8 among ODI allrounders, alongside Australia’s Glenn Maxwell, following impressive performances against Nepal and Netherlands.
