Jamie Carragher believes he has uncovered the football team Kate Abdo supports, thanks to her attire during CBS Sports’ coverage of this week’s Champions League action. Kate Abdo, alongside Carragher, Thierry Henry, and Micah Richards, provided analysis for the clash between Porto and Arsenal, where Porto secured a late victory in the first leg of their last 16 encounter.
Abdo wore a black and yellow top, prompting Carragher to suggest that it resembled Arsenal’s iconic banana kit from 1991-93. Carragher humorously pointed out the apparent connection, jokingly declaring the presence of three Arsenal supporters in the studio.

However, this revelation contradicts previous evidence of Abdo’s football allegiance, as she has previously expressed support for Manchester United. During a show in 2021, Abdo exhibited visible disappointment when Manchester United lost the Europa League final.
Carragher previously teased Abdo about her impartiality as a presenter, suggesting that she should show no emotion regardless of the outcome. Despite Arsenal’s late defeat in the first leg, they remain favorites to progress to the next round when they play at home, aiming to overcome their historical struggles in the last 16.
Meanwhile, Manchester City, the other English team in the competition, secured a 3-1 victory over Copenhagen. It is expected that they will advance comfortably when they return to the Etihad Stadium.
