A Superbike training accident at Portimao left the Pramac Ducati rider reportedly knocked unconscious. Although the initial CT scans revealed no serious injuries, a comprehensive evaluation to determine Franco Morbidelli’s eligibility for the Sepang test has faced delays.

The medical team has decided to postpone the assessment for a few additional days to gain a more comprehensive understanding of Morbidelli’s fitness. With just two days remaining before the scheduled Sepang test on February 6, the delay aims to ensure a thorough evaluation before determining his participation.
The incident occurred during Morbidelli’s Superbike training, and he received initial assistance from fellow riders Marc and Alex Marquez, who stopped to help until medical staff arrived.
The Sepang test is a crucial opportunity for teams and riders to prepare for the upcoming MotoGP season. Morbidelli’s status for the test will be clarified following the extended medical evaluation.
