Finn Allen created cricket history with a phenomenal performance against Pakistan, setting records and steering New Zealand to an impressive 224/7 in just 20 overs. His extraordinary 137 runs off 62 balls not only equaled the world record for the most sixes in a T20I but also established a new benchmark as the highest individual score by a New Zealander in this format. Allen’s aggressive batting display featured a staggering 16 sixes, matching Hazratullah Zazai’s record.

This remarkable innings surpassed the previous record held by Brendon McCullum, elevating Allen to the forefront as the first Kiwi batter to hit more than 10 sixes in a T20I, surpassing the achievements of Corey Anderson and Colin Munro.
Marking his second T20I century, Finn Allen achieved the feat in just 48 balls, making it the third-fastest by a New Zealander. Haris Rauf bore the brunt of Allen’s onslaught, conceding 27 runs in a single over. Allen’s dynamic performance paved the way for New Zealand’s strong position, securing a 3-0 lead in the five-match series.
Partnering with Tim Seifert (125 for the second wicket), Allen dominated the Pakistani bowlers. The umpires had to replace balls three times due to Allen’s powerful strikes. Despite Allen’s departure in the 18th over, bowled by Zaman Khan, New Zealand’s lead remained insurmountable.
In response, Pakistan could only muster 179/7, and New Zealand clinched victory by 45 runs, sealing the series with two games to spare. This outstanding performance further solidified New Zealand’s unbeaten record at Dunedin’s University Oval.
