Deepti Sharma, the highly skilled Indian all-rounder, clinched the prestigious ICC Women’s Player of the Month award for her exceptional contributions in December. In a notable achievement, Deepti surpassed teammate Jemimah Rodrigues and Zimbabwe’s spinner Precious Marange to secure her first accolade of this nature.

December Highlights
December showcased Deepti’s exceptional contributions during the home series against England and Australia. She played a pivotal role in India’s resounding innings victory over England in the one-off Test, impressively claiming nine wickets with her off-spin and adding 67 runs as the No. 7 batswoman.
In the Test against Australia, Deepti Sharma emerged as the fourth-highest run-scorer, amassing 78 runs. She also stood out as one of the top wicket-takers in both the ODI (seven wickets at an average of 20.86) and T20I (five wickets at an average of 15.60) formats, contributing significantly to India’s triumph.
Versatility in Performance
Deepti’s performances in December underscored her growing significance as a spinner and a lower-order batter for the Indian women’s team. While excelling in her bowling prowess, she acknowledged the need for improvement in her lower-order hitting in white-ball cricket.
Gratitude and Aspirations
Expressing her gratitude, Deepti stated in an official statement, “It’s an honor to be voted the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for December. I feel very good about my game at the moment, and I’m glad that reflected in my performances for India last month against strong opponents. I’ll continue to work hard so that I can have more moments like this in the future.”
She expressed appreciation for global fan support, stating, “I’m grateful to have earned this award, and the fact that fans around the world also voted for me makes it extra special. I want to thank them and my teammates for their help in securing this award.”
