The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the schedule for IPL 2025, and cricket fans are eagerly waiting for the action to begin. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) aim to claim their maiden IPL title under new skipper Rishabh Pant, bought for ₹27 Crores at the auction.
The IPL 2025 season kicks off on March 22 with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) facing Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Meanwhile, the final will be held on May 25 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. As for LSG, their campaign begins on March 24 against Delhi Capitals in Vizag. Additionally, their first home match is on April 1 against Punjab Kings.
LSG has shown promise in past seasons, finishing fourth in both 2022 and 2023 after losing in eliminators. However, they struggled in 2024, ending seventh on the points table. This year, they aim to bounce back stronger.
LSG will play three afternoon matches, starting with KKR on April 6 in Kolkata. Furthermore, their group stage concludes with a home game against SunRisers Hyderabad on May 18. Notably, other key fixtures include matches against Mumbai Indians on April 4 and April 27, Chennai Super Kings on April 14, and Gujarat Titans on April 12 and May 14.
The LSG squad for IPL 2025 features Rishabh Pant (c), Nicholas Pooran, Ravi Bishnoi, Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan, David Miller, Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh, Avesh Khan, Shamar Joseph, and Rajvardhan Hangargekar, among others. With a well-rounded squad and new leadership, LSG aims to make a strong impact this season.
