The official website for Hero Without a Class: Who Even Needs Skills?! (Mushoku no Eiyū: Betsu ni Skill Nanka Iranakattan da ga), the anime adaptation of Shichio Kuzu’s novel series illustrated by Yumehito Ueda, has revealed key details. The announcement includes the lead cast, main staff, a teaser visual, and a 2025 premiere date.

Kenshō Ono will voice the protagonist, Arel. Kaoru Yabana, who directed The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord’s Army was a Human and I’ve Somehow Gotten Stronger When I Improved My Farm-Related Skills, directs the anime at Studio A-Cat. Chabo Higurashi (Memories Off 3.5, AMAZING STRANGER) is overseeing and writing the scripts. Hiroto Morishita serves as the sound director, while Kento Asahina is composing the music.

One Peace Books is publishing the English version of the manga adaptation and describes the story as follows: In a world where every child receives a Class and Skills at age ten, these traits ultimately determine their future. However, Arel, the son of Sword Princess Farah and Archmage Leon, is unexpectedly born without a class or skills. As a result, he is left with nothing but determination. Nevertheless, he trains relentlessly, using his intelligence and perseverance to gradually forge his own path as a hero.

The novel series debuted on the Shōsetsu-ka ni Narou website in November 2017. Earth Star Entertainment began publishing the novels in July 2018 and released the fourth volume in June 2019. Akio Nanae’s manga adaptation launched in Comic Earth Star in November 2018. The eighth compiled volume was released in June 2024, and the ninth volume will be available on Wednesday. One Peace Books published the first English volume in October 2024.
