Manchester United legend has set the record straight (kind of) on a bar brawl story from his younger days.
Previously, former Nottingham Forest defender Larry Lloyd claimed he had to kick a young Keane out of his pub, The Stage Door, for bad behavior. However, Keane denies this ever happening.
In a recent interview, Keane admitted to a different bar incident in Nottingham, though. This time, it involved him getting thrown out…through a window!
The story unfolded on the “Stick to Football” podcast where Keane, known for his fiery temper on the pitch, revealed his past fondness for a drink. He described being at a wine bar after recently signing with Manchester United. He snuck out while visiting his old stomping grounds in Nottingham and ended up at the bar.

Keane, known for disliking formalities, opted to drink straight from the bottle. Things escalated when he exchanged words with “a couple of idiots,” possibly bouncers. The situation culminated in him being tossed out through a window. Landing on the street with his trusty bottle of wine still in hand!
While this wild tale paints a different picture than Lloyd’s version, the truth remains unclear. Keane maintains he was never barred from Lloyd’s pub and may not have even been there.
Royne Rooney, Wayne Rooney, and Ian Wright, Keane’s podcast co-stars, found the whole story hilarious. Who knows what the real story is, but one thing’s for sure: young Roy Keane knew how to have a lively night out!
