Robert Lewandowski Hits 100 UEFA Champions League Goals as Barcelona Cruise Past Brest

FC Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski reached a significant milestone in his career, scoring his 100th goal in the UEFA Champions League during his side’s 3-0 victory over Brest.

The Polish striker opened the scoring in the 10th minute, converting a penalty after Brest goalkeeper Marco Bizot clattered into his back, sending him to the ground. This goal marked Lewandowski’s sixth of the season in the competition, further cementing his place as one of the Champions League’s elite goal scorers.

Barcelona dominated the first half, with Lamine Yamal watching from the stands as Fermin Lopez narrowly missed after an assist from Raphinha. The Brazilian winger then saw his shot deflected for a corner following a well-worked team move. Bizot, who had made the error leading to Lewandowski’s penalty, made a superb save to deny Lopez’s powerful header from a Marc Casado cross.

The second half saw Barcelona continue to apply pressure. Raphinha and Dani Olmo had shots blocked before Bizot again thwarted Lopez, who was teed up by Lewandowski’s clever back-heel.

Barcelona doubled their lead in the 66th minute when Dani Olmo, receiving a pass from left-back Gerard Martin, took on Brest’s Brendan Chardonnet and slotted the ball past Bizot at the near post.

Brest thought they had pulled one back with 15 minutes remaining when Mathias Pereira Lage found the net, but the goal was ruled offside. Barcelona’s dominance continued, with Pablo Torre firing wide after intercepting a poor pass in the Brest defense.

Lewandowski sealed the win in the dying moments, scoring his 101st Champions League goal in the 92nd minute. After controlling a pass from Alejandro Balde, Lewandowski found space at the far post to complete his brace and round off Barcelona’s commanding performance.
