McLaren Launches ‘Legend Reborn’ Livery to Honor Iconic F1 Heritage at Singapore GP

McLaren has announced its second special livery of the season, named “Legend Reborn,” set to debut at the upcoming Singapore Grand Prix. This latest design is a tribute to the team’s iconic MP4 livery that graced the track from 1981 to 1996, developed in collaboration with sponsor OKX.

Following a successful Ayrton Senna-themed livery showcased during the Monaco Grand Prix, McLaren’s Singapore livery pays homage to the classic red-and-white color scheme associated with the team’s Marlboro sponsorship. However, the MP4-38 will maintain its signature papaya orange as the primary color.

In addition to the heritage-inspired design, the car will prominently display the names of 13 legendary drivers who have raced in the MP4 series, including the likes of Senna, Alain Prost, and Niki Lauda, around the cockpit.

McLaren Racing’s Chief Marketing Officer, Louise McEwen, expressed excitement about the new design, noting, “It is fantastic to bring back our third bespoke livery in Singapore with OKX. Legend Reborn is a great way to celebrate and honor our iconic history, uniting fans old and new.”

The official reveal of the new colors will take place on Thursday evening in Singapore. Other teams, including Mercedes and Red Bull Racing, are also set to introduce special color schemes for the night race. However, Red Bull has opted out, citing weight concerns as they aim to reclaim the constructors’ championship lead from McLaren.

With this heritage livery, McLaren continues to engage both its long-time fans and newcomers, showcasing its storied history while looking forward to the future.
