Haas F1 has unveiled the design of its new car, the VF-24, in launch renders, providing a glimpse into the key changes and modifications made for the upcoming season. The VF-24 is the first Formula 1 car to break cover for the 2024 season.
The design of the sidepods undergoes noticeable alterations, following the development path initiated by Haas during the 2023 season. The sidepod solution now features a downwash ramp-style design, made possible by relocating the lower of the two Side Impact Spars (SIS) within the lower part of the sidepod. This change allows for an expanded undercut and a refined sidepod inlet.
The VF-24’s floor features a blister, adopting downwash ramp-style sidepod solution, similar to the design on the Red Bull RB19. The upper surface of the sidepod is smoother compared to the previous adaptation, moving away from the shallow gully design.

The engine cover features a shelf-like extension, following a common trend in Formula 1, providing contours for airflow at the rear of the car.
The cooling gills have been reduced in size, with potential for exchangeable panels for extreme temperatures.
Now, triangular roll hoop is an internal component within a more conventional conical airbox layout, featuring inlets on each side. The airbox ears are positioned closer to the airbox due to its increased width.
At the front, the VF-24 retains outwashing slot gap separator brackets and a low rear quarter winglet on the endplate. A new feature takes inspiration from Mercedes, with semi-detached rear flaps and an additional winglet for improved outwash control.
The rear of the car reveals an influence from Alpine, featuring a semi-detached rear wing tip solution. The leading edge of the tip section is arced, positioned atop a spar instead of connecting to the mainplane. A bi-plane beam wing arrangement serves a similar purpose.
While these launch renders offer insights into Haas’ VF-24 design, the intricacies of the floor and diffuser are not fully visible, leaving room for more details to be unveiled when the actual car makes its debut.
