Former UFC champion Amanda Nunes has sparked curiosity with a lighthearted message to UFC CEO Dana White via social media, hinting that she might be missing the octagon.
In a playful video shared with her followers, Nunes sang a personalized version of “Outdoor” by the Brazilian samba group Só Pra Contrariar. She humorously altered the lyrics to ask White to “call me, please” and added, “I miss you so much.” The message, sung in Portuguese, comes months after her retirement from mixed martial arts.
The original lyrics, expressing longing and a desire to reconnect, were fitting for Nunes’ playful request:
“I can’t believe you won’t look for me,
I’ve suffered too much beyond what I deserve,
Oh, please call,
I miss you so much.”
Nunes, widely regarded as one of the greatest female fighters in MMA history, retired in June 2023 after successfully defending her UFC bantamweight title against Irene Aldana. She left the sport as a two-division champion, having won 14 of her last 15 fights. Her lone loss in that period came at the hands of Julianna Peña, who took the bantamweight belt from Nunes before losing it back in their rematch.
Recently, Peña, who won her UFC 307 bout against Raquel Pennington, called for a trilogy fight with “The Lioness,” reigniting talks of a potential return for Nunes. While it remains unclear if Nunes is planning a comeback, her playful message to Dana White has certainly fueled speculation.
For now, fans and the MMA world are left wondering whether Nunes’ humorous plea could lead to her stepping back into the octagon for one last fight.
