Pramac Yamaha to Announce 2025 Rider Line-Up Later This Month Amid Team Transition

Pramac Yamaha has confirmed they will announce their 2025 MotoGP rider line-up within this month. Although the decision will not be revealed at this weekend’s Misano round. The team is expected to name Miguel Oliveira and Jack Miller as their new riders for the upcoming season.

Gino Borsoi, team boss of Pramac, clarified the situation to TNT Sports. “We have already decided on our riders,” Borsoi stated. “However, we will not make the announcement at the Misano rounds—neither this weekend’s nor the one starting September 20. The delay is due to some final details that need to be resolved.”

Pramac Yamaha is making a significant shift by switching from Ducati machinery to Yamaha for 2025. Consequently, this move will increase Yamaha’s presence on the grid to four bikes. Moreover, this development is a crucial step for the manufacturer’s goal to regain its former glory.

The team’s decision to prioritize experienced riders like Oliveira and Miller over younger talents from Moto2 highlights their focus on seasoned competitors. For Miller, joining Pramac Yamaha represents a lifeline for his MotoGP career after losing his KTM ride and being overlooked by other teams.

Borsoi expressed enthusiasm about the switch to Yamaha, praising the manufacturer’s history and recent improvements. “Yamaha is an incredible factory with a strong track record of championships,” he said. “We trust in their new structure and look forward to a promising future together.”

Currently, Pramac is leading the MotoGP championship, with Jorge Martin holding a 23-point advantage over Pecco Bagnaia as they head into the Misano rounds. The team’s potential departure from Ducati could see them win the title before ending their association with the manufacturer.

Borsoi also hinted at plans for a Moto2 team but refrained from providing further details. “We have a few riders in mind,” he revealed.
