Red Bull has set the stage for the RB21’s debut, scheduling a filming day in Bahrain on February 25, just one day before the start of pre-season testing at the Sakhir circuit.
Reigning F1 world champion Max Verstappen and new teammate Liam Lawson will be the first to drive the 2025 challenger, marking Lawson’s first official run as a Red Bull driver ahead of his full-time debut in Bahrain.
FIA regulations allow teams to complete up to 200km on Pirelli demonstration tyres during a launch event. Red Bull previously held its 2024 filming day at Silverstone, but rain hampered running.
RB21 Launch Strategy and 2025 F1 Event Schedule
Unlike Ferrari and Williams, who are hosting their own traditional car launches, Red Bull has opted out of an independent unveiling. Instead, the team will reveal its 2025 livery at Formula 1’s 75th anniversary launch event at the London O2 Arena on February 18.
This approach aligns with Mercedes, as both teams will head straight to Bahrain for testing, while others will debut their cars separately.
Horner: 2025 Title Race “Too Close to Call”

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner expressed optimism ahead of the new season but acknowledged that the battle at the front could be intense.
“I think it’s going to be super tight. You’re going to have four teams that are very competitive, so take your pick,” Horner said at the Autosport Awards.
“McLaren, Ferrari, and Mercedes will all be strong, so it could be a stellar year.”
RB21: Aiming to Fix 2024 Balance Issues
The RB21 is expected to address balance issues that hindered Red Bull’s performance in 2024, contributing to their third-place finish in the Constructors’ Championship. However, like all teams, Red Bull must balance its RB21 development with preparations for the sweeping 2026 regulation changes.
With a filming day set, pre-season testing around the corner, and a highly competitive field forming, Red Bull’s RB21 debut will be a key moment in setting the tone for the 2025 Formula 1 season.
