Red Bull Racing has officially confirmed that 20-year-old Isack Hadjar will be promoted to Formula One for the 2025 season. The French driver, who has been competing with the Campos Racing team in Formula 2, has quickly emerged as one of the most exciting young talents in motorsport, with standout wins at iconic Grand Prix venues including Imola, Spa-Francorchamps, and Silverstone.

Hadjar’s promotion continues the legacy of the Red Bull Junior Program, which has produced some of the sport’s biggest stars, including Max Verstappen, Sebastian Vettel, and Daniel Ricciardo. He will become the 19th driver to make the jump to Formula One from the renowned program since its inception in 2001.

“I’m very excited to step into my new role at VCARB,” Hadjar said. “This is a huge moment for me, my family, and everyone who has supported me along the way. The journey from karting to now being in Formula One is the culmination of a lifetime of hard work – it’s the dream come true. I’m stepping into a new world, driving a faster car, and competing against the best drivers. It’ll be a massive learning curve, but I’m ready to give it my all and do my best for the team.”

Hadjar also expressed his excitement at the prospect of working alongside his teammate, Yuki Tsunoda. “I look forward to working with and learning from Yuki,” he said. “He’s someone I’ve always looked up to, having gone through the Red Bull Junior Program as well. His experience will be invaluable, and we’ve both taken similar paths to F1, so I’m eager to learn from him.”

Red Bull
Laurent Mekies, Red Bull Racing’s Sporting Director, praised Hadjar’s journey and potential. “Isack’s rise through the ranks has been exceptional. His results in junior single-seaters speak for themselves, and he has the talent, work ethic, and drive to succeed at the highest level. We are confident he will adapt quickly and make a significant impact with the team. His partnership with Yuki will bring a fresh dynamic to our lineup in 2025.”

Mekies also highlighted Tsunoda’s invaluable experience, which will be crucial for the team’s objectives in the upcoming season. “Yuki has shown incredible resilience and maturity, which will be essential as we aim to achieve our goals for 2025.”

Peter Bayer, CEO of Red Bull Racing, also emphasized the importance of nurturing young talent. “We congratulate Liam for his move up to Oracle Red Bull Racing and continue our commitment to developing the best young drivers in motorsport,” he said. “This strategic objective is about fostering talent and preparing drivers for the next step, and Isack’s promotion is a testament to the success of the Red Bull Junior Program. We believe having a younger driver will help us connect with a broader, younger audience, and we’re excited to take our fans along on this journey.”

Hadjar’s promotion to Formula One marks another exciting chapter in Red Bull Racing’s ongoing commitment to developing and nurturing the next generation of motorsport talent.
