India’s T20 World Cup-winning team, led by Rohit Sharma, has finally arrived at the Delhi Airport after a delay caused by Hurricane Beryl.

Following a prolonged delay due to Hurricane Beryl in the Caribbean islands, Team India’s T20 World Cup champions have landed back in India. Rohit Sharma and his team touched down in New Delhi early Thursday morning (July 4) after defeating South Africa to win the T20 World Cup on Saturday (June 29) in Barbados, ending their 11-year world title drought. They arrived on a special Air India chartered flight and received a grand welcome in the national capital. The entire nation eagerly celebrated their historic triumph.
The Men in Blue’s victory over the Proteas was particularly significant as it broke the trend of India coming close to a title but losing in knockout matches. This was their third final in a year but their first successful attempt at lifting a world title since the 2013 Champions Trophy.
The Indian team landed in Delhi in the early hours of July 4. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a heartwarming video on X, showing the players with the T20 World Cup trophy. They captioned the post, “It’s home.”
