Philadelphia 76ers star Paul George offered an encouraging update on his left knee hyperextension injury sustained during the team’s 104-89 preseason victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Monday. After 12 minutes of play, Paul George left the game and did not return.
Following the game, 76ers beat reporter Gina Mizell reported that Paul George, wearing a knee sleeve. Expressed he was “not too concerned” and planned to receive treatment that night.
Head coach Nick Nurse acknowledged the setback, noting that Paul George’s absence could hinder his integration into the team’s systems. However, he remains hopeful for a quick return. “Hopefully it’ll be OK so he’s back with us right away,” Nurse stated.
With only two preseason games remaining—against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday and the Orlando Magic on Friday—76ers fans are eager for George to recover in time for the regular season.
Acquired in the offseason to bolster the roster alongside Joel Embiid, Paul George had previously showcased his talent by scoring 23 points in his debut against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Before his injury, he contributed eight points against the Hawks, shooting 3 of 5 from the field and 1 of 1 from three point range.
