Mumbai Indians’ star batter Suryakumar Yadav is set to play in the IPL 2025 clash against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on April 4 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. After a quiet run in recent T20I matches, Suryakumar has found his touch in the IPL, delivering some fluent knocks that highlight his explosive batting ability.
Recently, the 34-year-old added another feather to his cap by becoming just the fifth Indian batter to score 8,000 runs in T20 cricket. He reached the milestone in his 288th innings, boasting an average of 34 and a brilliant strike rate of 152. With form on his side, Suryakumar now stands on the cusp of breaking multiple major records in the shortest format.
Firstly, he is just 4 fours away from smashing 800 boundaries in T20s. Achieving this feat will place him in an elite category, further solidifying his reputation as one of the most reliable and aggressive batters in the format.
Secondly, Suryakumar is one six short of reaching the 350-sixes mark in T20s. Given his knack for clearing the ropes, this record could easily fall in the upcoming match.
Thirdly, he is also nearing another major IPL record — 400 fours in the tournament. He needs 9 more boundaries to reach the milestone, adding yet another highlight to his already glittering IPL career.
With three major milestones within touching distance, all eyes will be on Suryakumar Yadav in the MI vs LSG encounter, as he looks to make history once again.
