😃 “Keep Smiling and Goals Will Come” – Maresca Backs Palmer Amid Goal Drought ⚽💙

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has offered his full support to star forward Cole Palmer, urging the 22-year-old to stay positive despite failing to score in his last seven appearances 🔵😬.

🔥 Palmer’s Dry Spell Continues, but Chelsea Shine

Palmer, Chelsea’s top scorer this season, endured another frustrating night in the 4-0 victory over Southampton at Stamford Bridge 🏟️. While four different players found the net, Palmer missed a host of chances, including two one-on-one opportunities against goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale 😖.

Despite his barren run, Maresca remains confident in the young forward:
💬 “He has to keep working, keep smiling, keep laughing. It’s normal to struggle for goals sometimes, but he’ll score many more.” 🎯🔜

🔢 Palmer’s recent struggles in numbers:
📉 7 shots – joint-highest for a Chelsea player this season
📉 0 goals in last 7 games after scoring 14 in his first 21 matches
*📉 xG of 1.07 against Southampton

Palmer, however, saw the funny side of his luckless night, grinning after a late free-kick was saved – a reaction Maresca praised:
💬 “He’s responding perfectly. He’s smiling, and we have no doubt he’ll be back scoring soon.” 😊⚽

🚀 Neto Shines in False-Nine Role

With Nicolas Jackson out injured, Maresca turned to Pedro Neto as a false nine – and the winger delivered 👏.

💥 Neto’s impact vs Southampton:
⚽ 1 goal 🎯
🎯 1 assist 🅰️

🔹 Nkunku also stepped up, grabbing a goal and an assist.
🔹 Maresca praised Neto’s versatility:
💬 “We tried Palmer and Nkunku centrally, but it didn’t work. Neto gives us a threat in behind, and he was fantastic.” 💨🔥

🎤 Chelsea Fans Protest – Maresca Calls for Trust

Before the match, around 100 Chelsea fans protested against the club’s ownership, expressing frustration with the BlueCo consortium led by Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali 🏳️😠.

💬 “The fans must trust the process. We’ve been in the top four for most of the season. The players are working hard to bring Chelsea back to the Champions League.” 💪🔵

With Chelsea returning to fourth place, Maresca believes better days are ahead.
