GLORY Kickboxing has unveiled its most ambitious event to date: a 32-man single-elimination heavyweight tournament titled “Last Heavyweight Standing.” The groundbreaking competition will begin on April 5, 2025, at GLORY 99 in Rotterdam, Netherlands, and will span five events to crown the ultimate champion.
An Open Invitation to Combat Sports Athletes
In a bold move, GLORY CEO Marshall Zelaznik extended an open invitation to heavyweight athletes from all combat sports disciplines, encouraging them to compete against the world’s best strikers.
“It’s the biggest heavyweight tournament in the history of combat sports,” Zelaznik said. “The field is nearly complete, and we’ll announce more participants in the coming days. However, we are inviting heavyweights from MMA, boxing, and all combat sports to test their skills. If you want to prove yourself against the best, this tournament is your chance. For fans, it will be an unforgettable spectacle that will leave a lasting mark in combat sports history.”
Tournament Format and Prize Pool
The tournament will kick off with 16 first-round matchups at GLORY 99. The competition will culminate in a dramatic final event, where the remaining eight fighters will compete in three bouts in a single night to determine the champion.
The tournament will distribute a total prize pool exceeding $1 million, with the winner receiving a significant share. GLORY has promised an unparalleled showcase of skill, power, and endurance as fighters battle for the coveted title.
