Manchester City Eye Pogba Move – Key Football News and Transfer Updates

Manchester City are reportedly exploring the possibility of bringing in French midfielder Paul Pogba, who is eligible to return to football in March after serving a doping ban. However, sources suggest that the 31-year-old former Manchester United and Juventus player may be hesitant about a move to the Premier League champions.

In other transfer news, Newcastle United are set to compete with Arsenal and Liverpool for the signing of West Ham’s 24-year-old winger Mohammed Kudus. However, the Magpies may need to offload players in January to raise the funds necessary to secure the Ghana international.

Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, 26, is in the final year of his contract and has confirmed he will not allow negotiations over a new deal to become public. The England defender continues to attract interest from Real Madrid, who are also targeting a new centre-back and planning to extend the contract of 32-year-old Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

Meanwhile, Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is focused on bolstering his squad in January, with targets including a new left-back, striker, and central midfielder.

Bayern Munich, on the other hand, will not pursue a replacement for injured England striker Harry Kane, 31, in January, according to sporting director Max Eberl.

Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon has denied reports linking him with a summer departure to Liverpool, insisting he is “very happy” at St James’ Park after speculation about a move fell through.

Manchester City are also interested in re-signing Dutch wing-back Jeremie Frimpong, 24, from Bayer Leverkusen, five years after he left their academy for Celtic.

Wolves and Nottingham Forest are both monitoring Atalanta’s English defender Ben Godfrey, 26, who has made just four appearances for the Serie A leaders since his £10m summer move from Everton.

Finally, AC Milan may consider selling France left-back Theo Hernandez, 27, in January if contract renewal talks do not make progress.

The transfer window promises to be an eventful one, with clubs eyeing several key moves as they strengthen their squads for the second half of the season.
