Ishan Kishan shared an emotional farewell tribute to Mumbai Indians (MI) on social media, reflecting on his seven-season journey with the franchise. In addition, the wicketkeeper-batter posted a heartfelt message alongside a minute-long video, which relived his best moments with MI, including their title-winning triumph in 2020.
Kishan joined Mumbai Indians ahead of the 2018 IPL season and quickly became an integral part of the team. His role was pivotal in MI’s 2020 victory, where he scored 516 runs at an average of 57.33 and a strike rate of nearly 146. Over the years, he continued to shine, accumulating over 400 runs in the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Across 89 IPL matches for MI, Kishan amassed 2,325 runs, with an average of 29.80.
Known for his explosive batting and wicketkeeping skills, Kishan helped MI dominate the T20 circuit, contributing to their success over multiple seasons. However, with the 2025 IPL season approaching, he will now be representing Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) after being bought by the franchise for ₹11.25 crore at the November 2024 mega auction.
