Trey Parker Injury Update: NC State Guard Out Against Colgate

N.C. State freshman guard Trey Parker will miss the Wolfpack’s Monday night game against Colgate due to a left wrist injury. The Fayetteville native, who has impressed early in his collegiate career, was seen with a brace on his wrist during the team’s warm-up.

Parker, a 6-foot-1 guard, was coming off his best performance of the season in N.C. State’s 82-70 victory over Coastal Carolina on Nov. 13. In that game, he recorded 13 points and five rebounds in just 20 minutes of play.

The injury occurred during the Coastal Carolina game when Parker took a hard fall. Following the incident, head coach Kevin Keatts provided an update, confirming that Parker is dealing with a “deep bone bruise.” Keatts noted that an MRI showed no structural damage, but Parker remains “incredibly sore” and will be evaluated on a day-to-day basis.

“We had an MRI, and it came back negative. But he’s incredibly sore. He took a nasty fall, so it’s gonna be day by day. I have no idea when he’ll be back. I don’t think it will keep him out for a long time,” Keatts said after N.C. State’s win against Colgate on Monday.

Parker is one of three members of the 2024 recruiting class for N.C. State, alongside Paul McNeil Jr. and Bryce Heard. He had been averaging 6.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game through his first three outings.

Though Parker’s absence is a setback for the young guard, the Wolfpack will hope for his swift recovery as they continue their season.
